National Park Pass

Visiting our beautiful National Parks can be a humbling experience for people of all ages. If you, a friend or your family is planning a trip to any National Park, here is an important tip for you to enjoy the most scenic places in America.

The Annual Pass

In one of our recent travels, we planned a vacation through Glacier, Theodore, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. My dad thought it would be a great idea to buy the Annual National Park Pass since we would be touring through multiple parks. He was completely right, purchasing the pass was well worth it! The Annual National Park Pass is around $80, not including tax, but the entrance fee into our first park, Glacier National Park, was $35 per vehicle. Since each park entrance fee can vary from $10 - $35 per vehicle, it would be well worth it to pay for an annual pass. If you plan on visiting at least three parks throughout the year or on your trip, it would be in your best interest to purchase one of these passes because not only does it donate to the National Parks, but it's also cheaper than paying for each park separately.

"At least 80 percent of the money stays in the park where it is collected, and the other 20 percent is used to benefit parks that do not collect fees," (National Park Service).

In addition, if you are a member of the military, there is a free military annual pass for you as well. Thank you for serving our beautiful country. Also, in my experience, when you purchase a pass at the park's booth, it is good for a week, but with the annual passes, you can come and go as you please.

It is extremely important for anyone traveling through to understand and respect the National Park you wanderer through. This land has been set aside for you to enjoy, leave it better than you found it for future generations to enjoy, just as you will.

Happy Trails, Wanderers!
